5. Yumi Stynes calls Kerri-Ann Kennerley 'racist' on Studio 10













Controversial television host Kerri-Anne Kennerley came to verbal blows with fellow presenter Yumi Stynes during a Studio 10 panel about people protesting to change the date of Australia Day.

Stynes called Kerri-Anne racist for her comments about protesters, who have branded the anniversary of the arrival of the British First Fleet in Port Jackson 'Invasion Day'.

'Has any one of them been out to the Outback, where children, babies, five-year-olds, are being raped?' Kerri-Anne asked.

'Their mothers are being raped, their sisters are being raped. They get no education. What have you done? Zippo.'

The panel sat in shocked silence until KIIS FM and ABC radio host Yumi Stynes went straight for the jugular.

'That is not even faintly true, Kerri-Anne, and you're sounding quite racist right now,' she said.

The studio audience gave a loud gasp at the accusation, and Kennerley responded that she was offended.

The feud continued over the following days, with both presenters receiving supporters.

4. 'UFO' seen hovering in the sky during a thunderstorm in WA

Broome Police, in Australia's far north-west, shared CCTV footage of a bizarre looking object in the sky on Twitter - and many were quick to claim it was a UFO.

The video showed a bright object tilted on its side during a thunderstorm.

Police captioned it saying: 'After reviewing CCTV at town beach of last night's storm, it appears we are not alone.'

Twitter users came up with possible explanations, with some saying it was probably just the reflection of a car's headlights on the camera at the beach.

3. Shocking street fight between a group of people and two police officers in Melbourne













A shocked taxi driver captured sickening footage of a man holding the head of a police officer in his hands and smashing it several times into the pavement.

The alleged attack occurred after emergency services were called to a brawl on Fitzroy Street in Melbourne's St Kilda about 3am on Sunday.

Just moments before the attack, police had been chasing a 26-year-old man through the streets of St Kilda.

After closing in on the man, the two police officers were then surrounded by an angry mob of six or seven revellers.

As one of the officers attended to the alleged attacker, the mob pounced and violently assaulted him and the other officer.

Six men have since been charged with assault, including two counts of assaulting an officer.

In a shocking video posted to the Facebook page Fried Fishing, commercial fisherman Billy Brislane was filmed using a dead shark as a bong in a boat off New South Wales' mid-north coast.

Set to the tune of the popular Korean children's song Baby Shark, the video quickly went viral and prompted outrage from other users.

Brislane defended his actions, claiming he was only smoking tobacco and the shark was dead before he came up with the idea.
