Fighting dinosaurs in heels
After watching 130 adrenaline fuelled minutes of dinosaurs eating innocent people, two small children narrowly escaping death, and Bryce Dallas Howard eventually saving the day, I couldn help but think of a similar film: I Don Know How She Does It.
Just like Sarah Jessica Parker protagonist who battles bosses, clients, demanding kids and bitchy school moms in painful looking shoes, Howard comes across as a total superwoman.
When I say heels, I don mean a hipster platform sandal, summer wedge or a sensible low lying kitten. These are the kind of stilettos you see a businesswoman wearing on a 90s made for TV movie. Not the sort you'd see a woman running for her life in.
Its a ridiculous move by the movie producers.
Everything wrong with Jurassic World
The sheer impracticality of fleeing from a T Rex in stilettos is hardly acknowledged in the film itself. When Pratt points out that Howard not exactly dressed for a dinosaur hunting mission, she whips off her decorative belt (inspriation: J Lo) and ties her shirt round her waist.
What any other woman would have done is dive under her work desk (Howard plays the park's operations manager, Claire) and pull out her 'commuting to work' trainers. Right?
Much has been made of this decision ever since Jurassic World stormed the box office this weekend, with people arguing it a sexist version of the original Jurassic Park which saw boot clad heroine Laura Dern kick some dino butt.
Has Hollywood actually regressed in the intervening 21 years, or is the 'heels' decision just another element of fantasy in a movie that bears little resemblance to reality?

Well, I'd argue that the Buy Adidas Superstar New B27136 Unisex White Ireland film does reflect reality.
It not just Howard and Hollywood actresses who are made to wear heels in ludicrous situations by out of touch dinosaurs it happens in real life too.
This week female flight attendants on Israel El Al Airlines are protesting a decision from company leadership that requires them to wear high heels until every passenger has boarded and seated. Previously, they only had to wear their heels whilst passing through the airport and greeting passengers, just like a scene from Pan Am.
Instead of the heels rule being scrapped altogether, airline bosses have gone backwards in time to the glam and sexist era where Nike Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit Mid Unisex White Colorful Dublin hostesses had to pass 'levels of attractiveness' to get the job.
Friends who work at City law firms and financial companies tell me there a similar rule, though unspoken, rule for them. It second nature to carry a pair of spare flats in their bag to avoid painful blisters and exhaustion.
This might all sound a bit silly. After all, it's only shoes.
And in the grand scheme of gender discrimination, high heels aren't exactly up there with pay gap. But they do matter, because it another example of rule for women, another for Adidas Fashion 777 Men Blue Black Sale Ireland
