The 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, 150 and 210, typically described as the 'Tri-Five,' are a staple of American timeless cars and truck programs and clubs. Attend any regional car meet and it's likely you'll see a Tri-Five of some sort there, so for owners of these vehicles, it can be hard to stick out.

The vehicle, which was recently included on YouTube channel AutotopiaLA, turns a lot of heads thanks to its matte black/gloss black exterior color combination, low-slung position, shaved door deals with and, maybe most significantly, the rumble of its 6.2 L LS3 V8 engine. AutotopiaLA spoke with the owner of the cars and truck, Matt, who provided some background on the construct.

After driving the automobile home, Matt right away went to work on the car, shaving the door deals with, overhauling the interior and replacing the 350 cubic-inch V8 engine (which he blew) with an LS3 dog crate engine ordered from General Motors Efficiency. He also installed an air bag suspension and bigger, black-painted wheels to offer the Chevy coupe the low-rider appearance he had envisioned for it.

According to the owner, the paddle shifters work to provide him some additional stopping power through the way of engine braking, as he had actually at first developed this automobile as a roadway rally racer. Getting on for 70 years, the Chevrolet Bel Air stays one of the most remarkable executions of pure automobile design. This level of style probably reaches its peak with the 2nd generation from 19551957. In 1957 over 47,500 purchasers put their names down for a Bel Air convertible with a price of more than $2,600.

While skillfully using essentially the same cars and truck underneath as '55 chevy for sale ebay and '56 designs, styling was ever more extreme. The Bel Air was Chevrolet's mid-priced line for 1962. This cars and truck is a two-door hardtop and was typically called a 'Bubbletop'.
