Rush Street Interactive and Rivers Casino Des Plaines announced the launch of Illinois' first online sportsbook Thursday.

BetRivers.com will live stream sporting events, allowing bettors to watch the action while on the platform.

"We are excited to make history in bringing the first online sportsbook to sports fans in our home state just in time as American sports are coming back into action," said Richard Schwartz, president of the Chicago-based Rush Street Interactive.

Illinois typically requires residents to first visit a casino but due to the coronavirus pandemic, people in the state are temporarily allowed to sign up and place bets from home at BetRivers.com.

And the sportsbook is offering a match bonus of up to $250 on first-time deposits.
