A group of members from the National Rifle Association (NRA) released a new video on Saturday that has the potential to cause a national stir.
The video, teach yourself piano books - http://insightbase.gq/learn-piano/ - which features NRA National Committee members Charles and Mary S. Hartzell (D-Middlesex), and the members of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), calls for a National Rifle Association summit to meet again in the coming days, and to "explain" the gun lobby's actions in Congress.
The video is a response to the NRA's decision in 2013 to reject an open arms ban that failed despite the fact that Congress approved it. The NSSF, which operates several gun safety training programs around the country, is a group of members who were members of the NRA and were not required to sign a permit for firearms.
The NSSF has since been shut out of many gun safety programs because the NRA refused to agree to a permit to carry concealed firearms, resulting in a policy change intended to "prohibit people who are not allowed within their country of residence to use their firearms for legitimate self-defense," the NRA has said. While the NRA still has a role to play at the NRA national convention this July, there are other members of Congress that are also willing to join the convention and do so at least once a year.
